1906 Antique British Automobile
Scroller Lawrence Peterson created this charming model of an antique car. The pattern was originally published in 1906 by Hobbies magazine as a “Special Fretwork” design. The pattern was entirely redrawn in the computer by “finescrollsaw.com.” and is available on his site.
Peterson used 1/8” and 3/8” wood. The dimensions of the car are:
Length —17.3 inches, Height—7.7 inches, Width—7.4 inches
The main body is Black Walnut, Hard Maple, Teak, and some Sapele for the undercarriage. A small bit of Honduran Mahogany (hood inset), Wenge (wheels, step and headlights), Yellow Heart (headlights), and Bubinga (steering wheel) used as highlights. Finish is a spray gloss polyurethane.
The last picture in the group shows the original as was presented in the 1906 British Hobbies magazine.
