Coin display! Woodchipper Ned Fouste’s son Jim asked him to prepare a simple display for showing off Jim’s collection of challenge coins. Given Jim’s special “requirements” for the dimensions of the coin slots, and with project-saving tips/guidance from Eckhard, Ned precisely cut slots in two narrow strips of material and then glued the five separate display pieces together to form the Walnut display base. Gaboon Ebony end caps not only dress up the ends of the Walnut base, but raise it slightly to give the coin display a floating appearance. The Walnut is finished with several coats of boiled linseed oil, and then the walnut and Ebony end caps are polished with carnauba paste wax.
