The wood is hickory, from some discarded cabinet doors, which were cut to size, including the thickness. The ovals were cut on a CNC machine. A Computer Numerical Control machine is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. This could also be done by scroll saw or band saw, if one has a steady hand. After sanding, Rich finished with 3 coats polyurethane prior to gluing the ovals to the stands.
