This is a pedestal table richly ornamented in baroque style. Its most impressive feature is the top of the table, whose main motif is two symmetrical dragons surrounded by a frame full of floral and geometrical ornamentation. The pattern is based in an old Italian design from the end of the XIX century that was entirely reconstructed by Pedro López Rodríguez in Seville, Spain. His website for patterns is: http://www.finescrollsaw.com.
This pedestal table uses 1/2 and 1/4 inches wood. The scroll saw cutting was done by Lawrence Peterson. He estimates about 50 - 60 hours of work. The hardest part was, at about 50 hours, to persevere and finish the project.Woods are Sapella, for the main body, and Walnut, Hard Maple, Aromatic Cedar for the top. Finish is Watco Danish Oil under Watco Wipe-on Poly.
